SITUATION

	
A trough lies over Tongatapu, ʻEua, and the Haʻapai groups, bringing cloudy periods, occasional rain, and strong winds to these areas today and tomorrow. The trough is expected to move eastward and away from the groups by tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, north to northwest winds will continue to prevail across most parts of Tonga.

		

FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TOMORROW FOR TONGA

	
FOR THE NIUAS AND VAVA'U:
Light and variable winds, becoming moderate south to southwest winds tomorrow morning.
Partly cloudy  with brief overnight showers becomes frequent tomorrow morning over the Niuas, possibly heavy at times with risk of isolated thunderstorm. Condition expected to improve tomorrow afternoon

FOR HA'APAI, TONGATAPU AND 'EUA:
Light to moderate north to northwesterly wind, turning west to southwest winds later this evening, fresh at times. 
Cloudy with occasional rain expected this evening and tonight, can be heavy at times. Condition are expected to improve later tomorrow morning.

A HIGH SURF WARNING ARE NOW IN FORCE FOR THE NIUAS AND VAVA'U COASTAL WATERS BUT STILL REMAINS IN FORCE FOR HA'APAI, TONGATAPU, 'EUA, TELE-KI-TONGA AND TELE-KI-TOKELAU COASTAL WATERS.

A STRONG WIND WARNING AND SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAIN IN FORCE FOR HA'APAI, TONGATAPU, 'EUA, TELE-KI-TONGA AND TELE-KI-TOKELAU COASTAL WATERS.

A HEAVY DAMAGING SWELL REMAIN IN FORCE FOR TELE-KI-TONGA AND TELE-KI-TOKELAU COASTAL WATERS.

		

FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TOMORROW FOR TONGA COASTAL WATERS

	
FOR TELE-KI-TONGA AND TELE-KI-TOKELAU COASTAL WATERS:
West to southwesterly winds 15-25 knots, rising to 30 knots at times.
Rough to very rough seas (up to 4-5metres). A heavy and damaging southwesterly swell (up to 4.5 metres).

FOR HA'APAI, TONGATAPU AND 'EUA COASTAL WATERS:
North to northwesterly winds 15-20 knots rising up to 25-30 knots, then westerly to southwesterly winds in the evening. Moderate to rough seas (up to 3-3.5 metres). A moderate southwesterly swells (up to 3.5 metres). 

FOR THE NIUAS AND VAVA'U COASTAL WATERS:
Easterly winds 10-20 knots, becoming variable at time up to 10 knots. Turning south to southwest winds later tomorrow morning.
Slight seas (up to 2 metres) becoming moderate seas by tomorrow afternoon (up to 2.5 metres).

FOR VAVA'U, HA'APAI, TONGATAPU AND 'EUA COASTAL WATERS:
West to southwesterly winds 10-20 knots.
Moderate to rough seas (up to 3 metres). A moderate southwesterly swell (up to 2.5 metres).

FOR THE NIUAS COASTAL WATERS:
South to southwesterly winds 10-15 knots.
Slight seas. A moderate southwesterly swell (up to 2 metres).
