A trough lies over most parts of the groups, bringing cloudy periods, occasional rain, and strong winds to these areas tonight and tomorrow. It's expected to move eastward and away from the groups by tomorrow afternoon. Meanwhile, a north to northwest winds will continue to prevail across most parts of Tonga.

		

FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TOMORROW FOR TONGA

	
FOR THE NIUAS AND VAVA'U:
Light and variable winds, becoming moderate south to southwest winds tomorrow morning.
Partly cloudy  with brief showers for Vava'u tonight and for the Niuas by tomorrow morning.

FOR HA'APAI, TONGATAPU AND 'EUA:
Light to moderate north to northwesterly wind, turning west to southwest winds later this evening, fresh at times. 
Cloudy with occasional showers for tonight and tomorrow, heavy at times. Condition are expected to improve later tomorrow morning.

A HIGH SURF WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR ALL OF TONGA COASTAL WATERS. 

A HEAVY DAMAGING SWELL REMAIN IN FORCE FOR TELE-KI-TONGA AND TELE-KI-TOKELAU COASTAL WATERS.

FOR TELE-KI-TONGA AND TELE-KI-TOKELAU COASTAL WATERS:
West to southwesterly winds 15-25 knots, rising up to 30 knots at times.
Rough seas (up to 3.5-4.5metres). A heavy and damaging southwesterly swell (up to 4 metres).

 





FOR HA'APAI, TONGATAPU AND 'EUA COASTAL WATERS:
North to northwesterly winds 15-20 knots rising up to 25-30 knots, turning westerly to southwesterly winds tonight. Moderate to rough seas (up to 3-3.5 metres). A moderate southwesterly swells (up to 3.5 metres). 

 





FOR THE NIUAS AND VAVA'U COASTAL WATERS:
Easterly winds 10-20 knots, becoming variable up to 10 knots for tonight. Turning south to southwest winds later tomorrow afternoon.
Slight seas (up to 2 metres) becoming moderate seas by tomorrow afternoon (up to 2.5 metres).

South to southwesterly winds 10-15 knots.
