A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR ALL OF TONGA LAND AREAS.




SITUATION



A trough continues to lie over the vicinity of the Niuas, bringing cl
oudy
conditions, occasional rain and a risk of isolated thunderstorms to t
he Niuas,
and extending over Vavau by tomorrow early. Meanwhile, fresh to str
ong
southeasterly winds continue to prevail across Tonga.

FOR VAVA'U AND THE NIUAS COASTAL WATERS:
Southeast wind 15-20 knots, rising up to 25-30 knots at times. Winds 
is
expected to gradually increase early tomorrow and gusting up to 35-45
 knots.
Very rough seas (up to 4-5 metres). A moderate southeasterly swell (u
p to 3
metres). Possible flooding in low lying coastal areas due to extreme 
high tide.
Poor visibilities due to heavy rain.

FOR THE REST OF TONGA COASTAL WATERS:
Southeast winds 15-20 knots, rising up to 25-30 knots at times. Rough
 seas (up
to 3 metres). A moderate southerly swell (up to 2.5 metres). Possible
 flooding
in low lying coastal areas due to extreme high tide. Poor visibilitie
s due to
heavy rain over Niuafo'ou coastal waters.
