A HEAVY RAIN WARNING AND FLASH FLOOD ADVISORY REMAIN IN FORCE FOR THE
 NIUAS AND
VAVA'U LAND AREAS.

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR ALL OF TONGA LAND AREAS.



SITUATION


An active trough continues to lie over the vicinity of the Niuas and 
Vava'u
today. Associated with cloudy conditions, occasional rain, risk of is
olated
thunderstorms affect these areas today and tomorrow. Meanwhile, fresh
 to strong
winds continue to prevail across Tonga.

FOR THE NIUAS:
Moderate east to northeasterly winds, fresh to strong at times.
Cloudy and overcast with occasional rain, heavy at times with isolate

thunderstorms. Possible flooding in low lying areas due to heavy rain

FOR VAVA'U:
Moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds, strong at times.
Mostly cloudy and overcast at times with developing occasional rain, 
heavy at
times with isolated thunderstorms. Possible flooding in low lying are
as due to
heavy rain.

FOR HA'APAI, TONGATAPU AND 'EUA:
Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds, strong at times.
Mostly cloudy with scattered showers, can be heavy at times with pote
ntial of
thunderstorms.

FOR THE NIUAS, VAVA'U AND HA'APAI:
Moderate west to southwest winds, fresh to strong at times.
Mostly cloudy with occasional showers, possibly heavy falls with isol
ated
thunderstorms. Condition expected to improve in the afternoon.

FOR TONGATAPU AND 'EUA:
Light to moderate west to southwest winds.
Cloudy with isolated showers.

FOR VAVA'U AND THE NIUAS COASTAL WATERS:
East to northeast wind 15-25 knots, gusting up to gale force winds 35
-45 knots
at times. Rough to very rough seas (up to 4-5 metres). A moderate sou
theasterly
swell (up to 3 metres). Possible flooding in low lying coastal areas 
due to
extreme high tide. Poor visibilities due to heavy rain.

FOR HA'APAI, TONGATAPU AND 'EUA COASTAL WATERS:
East to northeast winds 15-20 knots, rising up to 25-30 knots at time
s. Rough
seas (up to 3 metres). A moderate south to southeasterly swell (up to
 2.5
metres). Possible flooding in low lying coastal areas due to extreme 
high tide.

FOR TELE-KI-TONGA AND TELE-KI-TOKELAU COASTAL WATERS:
East to southeast winds 10-15 knots, rising up to 25-30 knots at time
