Southerly flow coming down the AK range over the weekend is bringing warmer conditions to the Tanana Flats than previously forecasted. Delta Junction could get close to Red Flag conditions. At this time forecasted min RH is 30 to 40 percent, this could drop. Stay tuned. Key Messages... - Saturday will be warm, likely the warmest day of the season for many portions of the interior. This change is in part to strong southerly flow coming down the AK range. A heat advisory remains in place for the Yukon Flats through Saturday. - Touching on southerly winds, gusty 35 to 60 mph southerly winds impact AK Range passes Saturday into Sunday, however heavy rainfall Thursday has significantly impacted fuels and min RH, limiting fire potential for the Tanana Flats and Upper Tanana. Stay tuned as we watch how dry we can get Friday. - Thunderstorms shift further east Friday and Saturday into the Eastern Brooks and Yukon.
