DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 100 AM CHST...1500 UTC...the center of Typhoon Bavi was
located near Latitude 17.6 degrees North and Longitude 131.2 
degrees East. Bavi is moving west-northwest at 14 mph. It is 
expected to make a turn toward the northwest with a slight 
decrease in forward speed today, exiting the region west of 
130E late today.

Maximum sustained winds are 145 mph. Bavi is forecast to slowly
weaken through Friday as it makes a turn to the northwest, 
roughly toward Taiwan.

Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to 125 
miles. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the 
center up to 310 miles.
